| but most likely the cold is affecting my brain: Considering all the effort it takes to make a set of IC hoses in 2.5" diameter, not to mention all the welding and the cost of mandrel bending...wouldn't it be easier to bulge out our stock pipes to the desired diameter? The technique is widely used, it consists of attaching a hardened steel ball bearing having an outer diameter of 2.5" to a chain, and pulling that ball through the pipe to expand it. Usually, the hose is held using vise-grips on tabs that were temporarily welded in place. Clearly you'd have to make 2.5" hardpipes to match, but this would cut the workload considerably. Any thoughts?
